Our story
A small room with a long memory
CUTZ BEAUTY PARLOUR is a basement parlour in Anurag Complex, Alkapuri — near the Bombay Shopping Center on Racecourse. Not a chain, not a franchise. One room, a few chairs, and a client list that mostly arrived by word of mouth.
How it started
It started the way most good parlours do — with one person doing hair for friends, then for their friends, until the kitchen table was no longer enough. The basement space in Anurag Complex was taken on because it was quiet, central, and easy to reach from anywhere in Alkapuri. The quiet turned out to matter more than we expected.
We kept it small on purpose. A bigger room would mean more chairs, more hands, and a rota where you get whoever is free. Here you get the person you booked with, from the consultation to the last check in the mirror. That is the whole business model.
What we actually believe
Most of what goes wrong in a parlour goes wrong before anyone picks up a pair of scissors — in the five minutes of conversation that should have happened and did not. So we start there, every time, even with a regular. Your hair in March is not your hair in September, and the humidity in Vadodara has opinions of its own.
The difference
What you will notice here
01
The consultation is real
We look at your hair and skin, ask what your mornings actually look like, and recommend around that — not around a price list.
02
No upselling, ever
You will never be told mid-facial that you need three more sittings. If something would help, we say so once and leave it with you.
03
Honest about damage
If a colour or a treatment would wreck your hair, we will tell you and offer the version that will not. Sometimes that means talking you out of the appointment.
04
Time that is yours
Appointments are spaced with real gaps. You are not rushed out, and you are not left waiting while someone else is squeezed in.
05
Products from the chair
Everything we sell is something we already use on clients. We can tell you how it behaves on your hair because we have watched it.
06
A quiet room
No blaring music, no queue at your shoulder. For a lot of our clients the hour here is the only quiet one in the week.
Bridal work
Weddings are the one place we slow down even further. A bridal booking starts with a trial sitting weeks ahead, photographed in daylight and again with flash, because makeup that looks right in the room can look very different in the photographs you keep.
From there we plan backwards: the pre-bridal facials, the hair, the waxing, the nails, and the running order of the morning itself. The aim is that on the day, nothing about how you look is still an open question.
Come and see
We are easier to judge in person.
Book something small first — a threading, a cleanup — and see how the room feels before you trust us with anything bigger. That is how most of our regulars started.
